In 2012, home builders, roofing contractors, construction and remodeling services, plumbers and general contractors made the top 10 list of most inquired about industries. All of these industries combined received more than 1,500 complaints in 2012. Before selecting your next contractor, BBB offers the following advice to homeowners: Use BBB.org to find trustworthy businesses. Start your search with BBB Member Pages to find BBB accredited contractors in your area. If you are referred to a business through friends, family or an advertisement, verify the business is in good standing at bbb.org before contacting them. Compare costs. College-Age Adults at Higher Risk of Falling Victim to Identity Theft

Better Business Bureau warns that college-age adults are particularly vulnerable to identity theft and related fraudulent crimes.
